The insurance division of Deutsche Asset Management has won the Best Asset Manager award, given out by worldwide insurance market magazine, Reactions.

An extensive insurance industry survey decides the winners of the Reactions’ 2008 Global Awards, and the results were announced in New York yesterday.

The awards were established to give special recognition to the insurance and reinsurance sector, with companies, initiatives and deals eligible for awards.

Deutsche Insurance Asset Management global head, Randy Brown, has said that being named Best Asset Manager highlights the increasing importance in the insurance field of external asset management.

Brown went on to say that the firm was pleased to win the award, particularly as it was based on client feedback.

It is the fourth consecutive year that Deutsche Insurance Asset Management has been named the globe’s biggest third-party manager of insurance portfolios.

At the end of last year the firm has over $160bn (£86bn) of assets under management.
