Morgan Stanley has announced that it intends to open an investment banking office in Warsaw, and will become a member of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

The office will be opened by the end of the year, following the necessary regulatory go aheads, and provide Morgan Stanley’s clients located in Poland and the wider region with enhanced access to international capital markets and corporate advisory services.

Marcin Socha has been appointed to lead the new office as executive director with responsibility for investment banking operations in Poland.

Franck Petitgas, global co-head of Investment Banking, has described Warsaw as a rapidly emerging financial centre in Central and Eastern Europe, adding that Poland’s strong fundamental position enabled it to evade recession last year and is a country Morgan Stanley is committed to.
