Oscar Suris has been appointed by Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) to serve as head of Corporate Communications and executive vice president.

Suris joins the firm from Ford Motor Company, where he worked as Corporate Communications and Development director.

He succeeds incumbent Corporate Communications chief Larry Haeg, who held the post for over two decades with Wells Fargo and predecessor firm Norwest.

He will be directly responsible to executive VP Patricia Callahan.

Haeg will stay on with the firm in an advisory capacity, with the intention to retire next year.

President and CEO John G. Stumpf has welcomed Suris’ appointment, describing him as the ideal choice for the post during the challenging time Ford finds itself in.
