Alicja Kornasiewicz has been named by UniCredit as the head of “Emerging Europe” (a newly created region) within the firm’s Markets & Investment Banking Division (MIB).
Previously she was responsible solely for MIB activities within Poland, having joined the firm 8 years ago.
She will also gain membership of the Executive Committee, responsible directly to Edoardo Spezzotti, the leader of the Markets & Investment Banking Division.
Emerging Europe includes all nations within the CEE and Poland Divisions, excepting Turkey, Kazkhstan and Russia.
Kornasiewicz will assume responsibility for all MIB activities pertaining to the Emerging Europe nations.
Her appointment marks UniCredit’s dedication to the strategic importance of the emerging nations.
Commenting on the matter, Spezzotti praised Kornasiewicz’s knowledge of the CEE markets, saying it would prove a valuable asset in her new position.
