by Richard Kilner

Story link: Credit Suisse announces future chairman

Investment bank Credit Suisse Group AG has declared that incumbent chairman Hans-Ulrich Doerig will remain in position until the 2011 AGM at which point he is to be succeeded by the vice chairman, Urs Rohner.

The Board of Directors of Credit Suisse has expressed their gratitude to Doerig for his efforts at this challenging time, and their pleasure that he has agreed to stay on until 2011.

Doerig has paid tribute to the dedication and contribution his successor has made to the firm in his present role as vice chairman, and in earlier posts including chief operating officer.

Doerig first became chairman in April this year, taking over from Walter B. Kielholz who relinquished the post to concentrate on his position as chairman of Swiss Re.

At the same time Rohner moved from being chief operating officer and general counsel to vice chairman.
