Crédit Agricole’s investment banking business Calyon has named Thierry Simon as the firm’s new deputy chief executive officer of Calyon Americas.

Simon has worked in the sector for over 20 years, beginning with a range of posts he held at Crédit Lyonnais, which he joined in 1985.

There he served as head of the Scotland branch, and head of the European Group in London, amongst other jobs.

Ten years after joining the firm he became head of Crédit Lyonnais Denmark and was appointed senior country officer with responsibility in the Nordic lands for banking, capital markets and institutional activities.

In 2004, Simon was made head of Real Estate and Hotels at Calyon.
