JPMorgan Chase has announced the appointment of Dr. Jacob Frenkel as chairman of JPMorgan Chase International.

In addition to this, Dr. Frenkel will acquire seats on the JPMorgan Chase Executive Committee and the International Council.

Dr. Frenkel brings extensive experience to the bank, including having spent two terms as Governor of the Bank of Israel, during which time he cut inflation and helped integrate the Israeli economy with the global financial sector.

He most recently worked for insurance giant AIG as vice chairman, and earlier in his career worked for investment bank Merrill Lynch International, Inc. as chairman.

JPMorgan Chase’s chairman and chief executive officer, Jamie Dimon, has expressed his respect and admiration for Dr. Frenkel, adding that he looked forward to working with him and benefiting from his insight.
