Global asset management firm Legg Mason Inc. has announced that Chief Financial Officer C.J. Daley is to part ways with the firm to take up a post with an asset manager.
Terrence Murphy, chief operating officer of Legg Mason affiliate ClearBridge Advisors, has been named as the interim chief financial officer, immediately replacing Daley.
Previously, Murphy served in Citigroup Asset Management as chief financial officer prior to the acquisition of the division business by Legg Mason.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mark R. Fetting thanked Daley for his decades of service to Legg Mason, and wished him and his family well for the future.
Fetting went on to welcome Murphy to his new position as interim chief financial officer, and paid tribute to his experience and expertise.
