Nigeria’s Oceanic Bank has been given the go ahead by the Banking Regulatory Commission in China (CBRC) to set up a representative office in Beijing.

Dr. Cecilia Ibru, chief executive officer of Oceanic Bank, has explained that the firm has moved to establish a representative office in the capital city of China in order to provide an enhanced level of service to its Chinese clients.

Nigerian analysts has praised the entrance of Oceanic Bank into China, with economist and trade analyst Peter Hunt describing how the move will improve banking activities between the Nigerian and Chinese business communities.
