Nigerian bank Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) plc has been named as the Most Customer Focused Bank in Nigeria by KPMG in its 2009 Banking Industry Customer Satisfaction Survey.

It is the second consecutive year that GTB has claimed the title.

Deputy managing director Segun Agbaje responded to the firm’s success by describing it as a highly appreciated vote of confidence in the bank.

Agbaje went on to say that the GTB saw customers as longterm partners that determine the firm’s stay in business.

The firm has also enjoyed success at the City People Awards For Excellence where it won a brace of awards.

The GTB came top in both the Best-Run Bank of The Year and CEO of The Year categories.

Amongst other factors customer service delivery and utilisation of technology helped the firm acquire the Best-Run Bank title.

Paul Abiagam, who collected the prize, explained that the bank saw it as a fitting recognition of its commitment to innovative and excellent service.
