In his new post, which is effective from 15 September, he will report to Ben Williams, Global Markets and Investment Banking.
Overlander is endowed with 26 years of experience from his banking career thus far and has played a large role in the acquisition by JPMorgan of investment bank Bear Stearns.
He worked for Bear Stearns as a managing director and co-head of Fixed Income until recently, and has held seats on various committees and boards with the firm.
