Northern Trust has announced the appointment of Wim van Ooijen as country head of Northern Trust The Netherlands.
Van Ooijen succeeds Eric Pouwels, who vacates the role to take up his new post as director of Strategic Development for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
He has been with the firm for six years, and previously worked as leader of Northern Trust’s Dutch relationship management team.
In his new position Van Ooijen will assume responsibility for the firm’s asset servicing business development, sales and client activities in the country.
Head of Northern Trust’s Institutional Investor Group, EMEA, Penelope Biggs has described The Netherlands as a key market for the firm, and welcomed the extensive experience Van Ooijen brings to his role as country head.
