Lloyds Banking Group is reported to have purchased a minority stake in Mountain Warehouse.

The private equity arm of the bank is understood to have acquired a 20% share in the outdoor specialist, which has plans to extend its branch network.

The acquisition has reportedly been made from Icelandic investment firm, Arev, which became involved with the retailer when backing a management buyout in 2007.

Lloyds Development Capital has also recently agreed the sale of its stake in Vision Security Group, a leading UK supplier of security services, saying the deal provided an attractive return on a significant minority stake taken in the business two years ago.
