From 1 September the Dresdner Kleinwort brand has ceased to be, and has become part of the Commerzbank brand across the world.
There is now a single brand covering all investment banking activities of the merged firm worldwide.
Employees formerly working for Dresdner Kleinwort will become staff in the Corporates & Markets or the Mittelstandsbank segments under the Commerzbank umbrella.
Commerzbank’s Michael Reuther has described the step as an exciting milestone as the firm’s clients would fully see the advantages of the combined strength of Commerzbank and Dresdner Kleinwort.
The Dresdner Kleinwort brand is the first division of Dresdner Bank, acquired earlier in 2009 by Commerzbank, to be renamed.
Commerzbank acquired the firm on 11 May, following an arrangement with Allianz to speed up the transaction and the appointment of Martin Blessing as chairman of Dresdner’s Management Board.
